The invention relates to a method for the treatment of liquid manure. In order to ensure that it can be used for all types of container and liquid manure which occur, without a high outlay in terms of equipment and without a high energy consumption, the invention provides for the liquid-manure fractions to be sucked up by means of a universal suction-and-pressure conveying unit, homogenised and ejected under pressure, controlled according to the particular treatment phase, in jets from nozzles or, before ejection, mixed and enriched with air, etc. in jet-pipe nozzles or fed into a discharge-conveying line, the liquid-manure fractions first being sucked up level with the surface scum, whilst, if sedimentation occurs, the liquid-manure jets are first ejected near the suction point and, after this sedimentation has been dissolved, progressively ejected further from the suction point, and for solid and/or bulky liquid-manure fractions to be separated, before or during suction, into particles of foreign matter and liquid-manure fractions and for the liquid-manure fractions to be comminuted mechanically.
