The terminal housings can be assembled to form multi-level terminal blocks, in the case of which the terminals in each terminal row are offset by half a terminal width with respect to the terminals in the adjacent terminal row, and each terminal housing is connected to the associated terminal housing of the adjacent row by means of at least two latching devices 27, 45 and 23, 49. The latching devices each consist of a latching recess 27 or 23 respectively on the rear of the terminal blocks on one half of the terminal width, and of a latching projection 45 or 49 respectively on the front of the terminals of the second and further terminal rows, on the other half of the terminal width. <IMAGE>
