An electrically driven compressor (1) is provided with a compression mechanism (3) for compressing a refrigerant, an electric motor (5), a body housing (7), a circuit housing (12a), a liquid sump (15a), and a heat generating component (9b) of a drive circuit (9). The electric motor (5) drives the compression mechanism (3). The body housing (7) accommodates the compression mechanism (3) and the electric motor (5). The circuit housing (12a) accommodates the drive circuit (9) for the electric motor (5) and is separated from the body housing (7) by a partition wall (12d). The liquid sump (15a) is provided on the side of one surface (12i) of the partition wall (12d), the one surface (12i) being exposed in the body housing (7), and contains the liquid phase component of a refrigerant sucked into the body housing (7). The heat generating component (9b) of the drive circuit (9) is mounted in contact with the contact portion (12h) of the other surface (12e) of the partition wall (12d), the other surface (12e) being exposed in the circuit housing (12a), the contact portion (12h) facing the liquid sump (15a). |
