[Class 81 (ii)] A dental matrix for use in stopping teeth, suitable also for separating crowded teeth, consists of an H- shaped body of elastic material, such as india rubber, the intermediate web portion 3 of which is stretched and inserted between the teeth while the side portions 1, 2 adapt themselves to fit closely to the teeth. The side portions 1, 2 are preferably tapered, and the web portion 3 may be thinner at the centre, as shown in Fig. 3. Projections 4, 5 may be provided to facilitate manipulation. In a modification, Fig. 5, the sides of the matrix are curved. The matrices may be formed as a strip or bar of the desired cross-section from whch individual matrices may be cut. |
