<p>PURPOSE:To remove the volatile org. matter such as trichloroethylene at a low cost by digging a well in the contaminated area, sucking the air in the well to produce a negative pressure, vaporizing, sucking, adsorbing and removing the volatile org. matter. CONSTITUTION:A bulkhead 10 (steel plate) is struck into the contaminated area A such as the ancient site of a factory, etc., an appropriate number of wells 12 are dug, and a suction pipe 14 is airtightly inserted. The pipe 14 is connected to a suction device 22 and further to a treating tank 24 through a connecting pipe 18 and a suction pipe 20. The air in the well 12 is sucked by the suction device 22 to produce a negative pressure, and the volatile org. matter in the contaminated soil is volatilized, sucked along with the air, introduced into the treating tank 24, adsorbed by an adsorbent such as active carbon and removed. The contaminated soil is decontaminated at the site.</p> |
