PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moon phase display mechanism capable of accurately displaying a moon phase representation in both the Northern Hemisphere and the Southern hemisphere.SOLUTION: A moon phase display mechanism 1 comprises a first phase indicator wheel 110 and a second phase indicator wheel 100 which coaxially overlap with each other and are permanently driven in opposite directions, and the first phase indicator wheel 110 supports a first heart-shaped cam 80, and the second phase indicator wheel 100 supports a second heart-shaped cam 90. A control wheel driven by a movement includes means 31 which guides a double lever 40 having two arms 43 and 53, and only one of the two arms 43 and 53 is configured to be always in contact with and cooperate with one of the second heart-shaped cam 90 and the first heart-shaped cam 80, and each of the heart-shaped cams 80 and 90 displays a moon phase which can be observed in the Northern or Southern Hemisphere, and rotates a moon phase disk 20 in an appropriate direction for the Northern or Southern Hemisphere.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
