PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery system that can be manufactured at a low cost and can properly charge a plurality of secondary batteries constituting a battery pack to full, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A secondary battery system includes a battery pack comprising a plurality of secondary batteries connected in series. The battery pack is connected with a voltage detection unit that detects the entire voltage of the battery pack. The secondary battery system recognizes, during charging, the number of secondary batteries of the battery pack that have reached full charge on the basis of the entire voltage of the battery pack obtained by the voltage detection unit. When all the secondary batteries have reached full charge, the secondary battery system ends the charging of the battery pack. On the other hand, in the case of the presence of the secondary batteries that have not reached full charge, the secondary battery system continues the charging of the battery pack, while regulating a current for charging the battery pack according to the number of the secondary batteries that have not reached full charge. |
