PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress elution of manganese from manganese deposits in a slurry.SOLUTION: The pH of the slurry is adjusted to 8.0 to 9.0, where the slurry is a waste water generated by a high-pressure acid leaching method by which nickel and cobalt are leached from a nickel oxide ore. The waste water contains deposits of manganese and aluminum generated by a precipitant including limestone and hydrated lime. The concentration of manganese in the slurry becomes less than 1 mg/L.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
