PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric discharge machining apparatus that can efficiently hollow out a workpiece by facilitating the discharge of machined waste and the introduction of a working fluid.SOLUTION: An electrode member 21 is arranged at a position surrounding at least a part of a processing area 11 to be hollowed out from a workpiece 10. A working fluid passage 22 is formed in the vicinity of the electrode member 21 to allow a working fluid for electric discharge machining to pass therethrough in the surface direction or thickness direction of the electrode member. A power supply part 30 applies a voltage for electric discharge between the workpiece 10 and the electrode member 21. A drive part 40 adjusts a relative positional relationship between the electrode member 21 and the workpiece 10 according to the progress of electric discharge machining.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
