PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair material for a brush which has proper polishing power and minimizes wear of a pressure roll, and to provide a brush roll.SOLUTION: A hair material 1 for a brush is used in a brush roll B for polishing a pressure roll R which rolls a metal plate S. The hair material 1 includes: one or multiple mono-filaments 2 including abrasive particles and made of a thermoplastic resin.
