<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an abnormal image caused by the stain of a charging means and the occurrence of scumming, and to elongate the service life of the charging means while suppressing the sticking of a carrier to an image carrier to the minimum by changing the texture potential of the image carrier under prescribed conditions. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus provided with: an image carrier 5; a charging means for charging the image carrier; a latent image forming means 6 for forming a latent image on the surface of the charged image carrier; developing means 10A to 10D for developing the latent image formed on the image carrier by the latent image forming means and converting the same into a toner image; and a transferring means 57 for transferring the toner image formed on the image carrier by the developing means onto transferring material P, the objective value or set value of the texture potential in the image carrier 5 is changed by any of the linear velocity of the image carrier, transferring current, the number of sheets of the transferring material P to be passed and/or the rotating speed of the image carrier. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
