<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give a feeling for brush handwriting of successively connected characters, by reading connecting line information out, displaying connecting lines that connect a plurality of characters, and connecting the displayed characters with each other. <P>SOLUTION: When display of character-connecting lines 23 is indicated with a predetermined key of a keyboard of an input part 12, the connecting line information for connecting the display characters is obtained (S23), on the condition that an element connecting line 22 be displayed, and the character-connecting lines 23 which have predetermined speeds, thicknesses, colors, densities, lightnesses, chromas, etc., are output to an output part 13 (S24, S25, S26, and S27).
