Provided is a support system for a marine engine, wherein it is possible to resolve problems related to anomalies and malfunctions even when sailing, and to reduce running costs. A memory (8) installed within a hull (2) stores various detection data of an engine (3), and a hull-side diagnosis unit (10) diagnoses anomalies and malfunctions in the engine (3) on the basis of the various detection data. A hull-side communication unit (12) transmits an anomaly or malfunction signal to a base (16) via a satellite connection (14) and a base-side communication unit (18), and the received diagnosis result is displayed on a base-side display unit (24). A transmission request of the data pertaining to the anomaly or malfunction selected by a support person at the base (16) on the basis of the anomaly or malfunction signal from the various data is transmitted to the hull-side communication unit (12) from the base-side communication unit (18), and the hull-side diagnosis unit (10) transmits to the base-side communication unit (18) the detection data pertaining to the anomaly or malfunction in the transmitted request. A base-side diagnosis unit (22) displays on the base-side display unit (24) the data pertaining to the anomaly or malfunction in a newly transmitted request. |
