PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a travel control device highly probable of changing a lane comfortably and safely.SOLUTION: A travel control device comprises: a standard acceleration range setting unit 21 for setting a standard acceleration range on the basis of the velocity of an own vehicle, the velocity of another vehicle and the lane information; a visible area estimating unit 22 for setting a visible range for each other vehicle; an estimated velocity change calculating unit 23 for calculating the estimated velocity change till the visible region is reached, so that the traveling may be the most smooth within a standard acceleration range; a residence possible time estimating unit 24 for estimating the residence possible time to the visible region on the basis of the estimated velocity change and the lane information; a target setting unit 25 for setting such one of the visible regions, in which the residence possible time period is at or longer than a predetermined one, as the target of the lane change, corresponding to the visible region with estimated velocity change capable of the most smooth traveling; and a vehicle speed control unit 3 for controlling the speed of the own vehicle on the basis of the estimated speed change which has been calculated for the visible range set as the target. |
