PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seam welding device and a seam welding method which maintain a constant welding state and improve quality of seam welding by adapting a welding condition for growing a nugget in a same size even when a size of a clearance between base materials in a workpiece is different.SOLUTION: A seam welding device includes: a welding device main body 20; a pair of roller electrodes 21 which are arranged on the welding device main body 20, and roll and sandwich a workpiece W with base materials W1, W2 laminated; a heat source 22 which is arranged on a traveling direction A side from the pair of roller electrodes 21 of the welding device main body 20 and heats an upper surface Wa of the workpiece W; a second temperature sensor 24 which measures a temperature Tb of a lower surface Wb of the workpiece W between a heating position by the heat source 22 and a sandwiching position by the pair of roller electrodes 21; and a control device 30 which calculates a size (GAP) of a clearance between the base materials W1, W2 in the workpiece W on the basis of the temperature of the lower surface Wb of the workpiece W measured by the second temperature sensor 24, and adjusts a value of a welding current I in response to the GAP. |
