PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for automatically controlling the taps of a transformer which can suppress inrush current and can make an automatic operation possible when there is a load. SOLUTION: A tap switch controller for a transformer is provided with a tap switch 1 for switching the position of a tap 11 of a transformer 10, a tap value detector 9 for detecting the position of the tap of the transformer, a voltage converter 2 for converting the system voltage, and an automatic voltage adjustor 3 which automatically controls the output voltage by switching the position of the tap of the transformer by the tap switch according to the system voltage converted by the voltage converter. It also has a breaker condition inputting device 7 for detecting the conditions of a breaker 12 of the system and a forced operation device 8 which generates a tap lowering command or tap raising command according to a signal of the inputting device 7. When the breaker is switched, the tap switch 1 moves the tap up and down rapidly according to a command from the forced operation device 8. |
