PURPOSE:To improve safety by fully-closing the throttle opening degree of an engine or further shifting down the speed change gear of an automatic transmission according to the reducing ratio of the distance to the vehicle in front to surely decelerate his own vehicle. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle speed signal from a speed detector 2 is inputted into a setting part 8 for aimed distance to a vehicle in front, and an actual distance between his own vehicle and a vehicle in front is detected. An output signal from a vehicle-to-vehicle distance detector 4 is inputted into a vehicle-to-vehicle distance reducing ratio judging part 6. The judging part 6 measures an actual vehicle-to-vehicle distance reducing ratio based on the actual vehicle-to-vehicle distance to compare it with the vehicle-to-vehicle distance reducing ratio, and output a judgment signal if the actual vehicle-to-vehicle distance reducing ratio is more than a set vehicle-to-vehicle distance reducing ratio. Besides, an ASC processing part 10 carries out control command computation for the full-closing of the throttle opening degree of an engine or the speed change gear shifting- down of an automatic transmission through a judgment signal of the judging part 6 to automatically decelerate his own vehicle. |
