The sealing apparatus for preventing gas leakage within a combustion chamber enhances the sealing efficiency by getting in close contact with a scroll plate by the force of a bimetal spring. The apparatus comprises a lap (16) of an involute-shaped scroll (1); a sealing groove (20) having a plurality of spring insertion grooves (20a) formed in the end of the lap (16); the bimetal spring (21) inserted in the insertion grooves (20a); an involute-shaped sealing member (22) inserted over the bimetal spring (21). The sealing apparatus gets operated by the heat deformation of the bimetal spring, caused by the temperature elevation in the compression chamber when the compressor gets driven.
