PURPOSE:To perform a welding having no welding defect at a low cost by performing the pretreatment of the joining face of a Ti stock by the silver nitride solution in a specific amt. in the case of joining a Ti stock and al stock. CONSTITUTION:The pretreatment composed of touching the joining face of a Ti stock to the silver nitride solution of 0.1 wt.% min. is executed to join the Al filter metal of an Al electrode or Al brazing filler metal, etc., by melting it. When the joining face of the Ti stock is brought into contact with the silver nitride solution, the Ag precipitated from the solution covers the Ti stock surface by the heating of a welding torch and since Ag has good wettability it improves the wettability of the Ti stock for a molten Al. The welding defect is thus prevented.
