To reduce power consumption of a display device. A sequence of supply of video signals to a plurality of pixels included in an active matrix display device is controlled. For example, a supply sequence is controlled so that the potentials of the video signals supplied to a plurality of pixels are in ascending order or in descending order. This enables a reduction in the amount of charge and discharge of electric charge of signal lines which supply video signals to a plurality of pixels. Consequently, power consumption of the display device can be reduced.

1. A display device comprising:
m×n pixels arranged in m rows and n columns, wherein each of m and n is a natural number of two or more; a first signal line electrically connected to the m pixels arranged in one column; and a second signal line electrically connected to the m pixels arranged in another column, wherein each of the first and second signal lines is configured to be supplied with a plurality of video signals for the m pixels in a first frame period so that a total amount of change in potentials of the plurality of video signals in the first signal line and change in potentials of the plurality of video signals in the second signal line is varied in ascending order from a minimum value.
