A weather shelter for providing protection during assembly of a column at a remote manufacturing yard is provided. The weather shelter can include a frame mounted to a hanging platform, and extending upwards from the hanging platform, the hanging platform supported by the column; and a protective covering mounted on the frame having a side covering and a top covering, the protective covering configured to provide an inner atmosphere within the protective covering protected from external elements when the protective covering is secured to the column.

1. A weather shelter for providing protection during assembly of a distillation column at a remote manufacturing yard, the weather shelter comprising:
a frame mounted to a hanging platform configured to support workers, and extending upwards from the hanging platform, the hanging platform configured to be supported solely by the distillation column when the hanging platform is hung on a curved outer wall of the distillation column during use; and a protective covering mounted on the frame, the protective covering having a side covering and a top covering, the protective covering configured to provide an inner atmosphere within the protective covering protected from external elements when the protective covering is secured to the distillation column, wherein the inner atmosphere is within a generally annular area defined between the side covering of the protective covering and the outer wall of the distillation column, wherein the inner atmosphere is substantially enclosed by the protective covering and the outer wall of the distillation column, wherein the entirety of the hanging platform is completely within the inner atmosphere and protective covering, wherein the top covering is configured to receive an upper strap configured to secure the top covering to the distillation column when tightened, wherein a lower portion of the side covering is configured to receive a lower side strap configured to secure the lower portion of the side covering to the distillation column when tightened, and wherein a bottom portion of the top covering is configured to surround an upper portion of the side covering such that when the bottom portion of the top covering is secured to the frame, the upper portion of the side covering is secured to the frame.
