The coloring material pattern transmits wavelength components of light that differ from wavelength components of light transmitted by the sensitizing dye adsorption layer.

A color filter substrate, comprising: a substrate; a dye-sensitized solar cell disposed on the substrate; and a coloring material pattern disposed on the substrate in an area different from an area where the dye-sensitized solar cell is disposed, wherein the dye-sensitized solar cell includes a positive electrode and a negative electrode disposed facing one another, and a sensitizing dye adsorption layer and an electrolyte layer both formed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, wherein the coloring material pattern transmits wavelength components of light that differ from wavelength components of light transmitted by the sensitizing dye adsorption layer, wherein a plurality of pixels are defined on the substrate, each pixel having the dye-sensitized solar cell and the coloring material pattern, wherein the plurality of pixels are grouped into a plurality of colored groups each assigned different colors, and wherein the wavelength components transmitted by the sensitizing dye adsorption layer in the dye-sensitized solar cell in each pixel differ each colored group, and the wavelength components transmitted by the coloring material pattern in each pixel differ for each colored group.
