An oil control valve (22) includes a valve body (26) and a controller (48) coupled to an exterior end (32) of the valve body (26). The controller (48) includes a solenoid housing (50) attached to the exterior end (32) of the valve body (26), and defines an interior region (54). An encapsulated coil assembly (52) is disposed within the interior region (54) of the solenoid housing (50). A housing seal (78) is disposed within the interior region (54) of the solenoid housing (50), in sealing engagement with the solenoid housing (50), the valve body (26), and the encapsulated coil assembly (52). The housing seal (78) is operable to seal the interior region (54) of the solenoid housing (50) to prevent fluid communication between the solenoid housing (50) and the valve body (26). An adapter assembly (24) is coupled to the valve body (26) to reposition a discharge location of a supply port (42), a control port (44), and an exhaust port (46) of the valve body (26) along a longitudinal axis (28) of the valve body (26).
