The invention relates to a fertilizer for plants that contains hordenine. The invention further relates to a method for fertilizing a plant group with such a fertilizer, wherein the plant group is preferably fertilized after at least some of the plants of the plant group have already put forth shoots. The invention further relates to the use of hordenine in a fertilizer for fertilizing plants.
