A pneumatic actuator (100) includes a housing (116) defining a chamber (118). A diaphragm (124) is positioned within the chamber (118). A rod member (105) is attached to the diaphragm (124) and is movable between a first position and a second position. A cam member (101) is attached to the diaphragm (124) and to the rod member (105). The cam member (101) has a cam surface. A deflection rod (102a) has a first end portion and a second end portion, where the first end portion of the deflection rod (102a) is attached to the housing (116). A follower (106a) is attached to the second end portion of the deflection rod (102a). The follower (106a) engages the cam surface of the cam member (101) so as to urge the rod member (105) towards the second position. |
