A communication apparatus which is installed in a vehicle and is equipped with: a plurality of communication units which have different ranges of connectivity; a determination unit which determines the traveling state of a vehicle; a selection unit which selects at least one of the plurality of communication units according to the determination results of the determination unit; and a stop unit which stops the operation of the communication unit selected by the selection unit.
