Provided is a refrigerator which is provided with an ice making unit having an ice tray and an ice storage box and in which the ice making unit can be freely placed in a freezing chamber. This refrigerator having the freezing chamber installed within a body is provided with the ice making unit having: the ice tray in which ice is made in the freezing chamber; and the ice storage box which stores therein the ice made in the ice tray, below the ice tray. The ice making unit has: a front part oriented toward a front side in the freezing chamber; a rear part oriented toward a far side in the freezing chamber; and side parts oriented toward left and right sides in the freezing chamber. The ice tray has a projected shape projecting downward at the rear part. The ice storage box has a hole formed at the rear part, into which the projected shape of the ice tray is inserted. In the ice making unit, the ice tray and the ice storage box are connected with each other to be integrated through the insertion of the projected shape of the ice tray into the hole of the ice storage box, and the front parts of the ice tray and the ice storage box are aligned with each other on a continuous plane.
