PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect surface information with a parallel relationship to a surface of a sheet material while keeping a certain distance relationship even in a case of a sheet material having a different thickness and stiffness.SOLUTION: In a sheet material identification device having detection means for detecting information of a sheet material while facing a surface of the sheet material and identification means for identifying the sheet material on the basis of the information detected by the detection means, the detection means is mounted on a sheet material loading device for loading the sheet material, and the detection means is brought into contact with the sheet material to be a detection object by setting the sheet material loading device to an image formation device. |
