There is provided a multi-segment component (50) for an aerosol generating article(2), the multi-segment component comprising a combustible heat source(4); an aerosol-forming substrate (10) downstream of the combustible heat source; and a wrapper (38) circumscribing the combustible heat source along at least part of its length. The combustible heat source has a shaped recess (110) on its outer surface (102) which is at least partially filled by an inorganic glue (42).
