A device is provided to support a kitchen work surface or counter whilst an opening or aperture is cut through it to allow, for example; a cooker hob or a sink to be fitted to the worktop. The device contains a lower planar member which may be located beneath the work surface and a second, smaller; clamp means located above the worktop. A hole may be drilled through the worksurface to allow a locating bolt to pass through and allow the clamps to grip the worktop. The aperture may then be cut through and the waste or surplus portion is held between the clamps. The device itself may be held using a pair of handles which may be attached to the lower planar member. A threaded clamp member may be undone to allow removal of the tool and the waste portion from the remainder of the worktop. |
