A method for decoding a multi-view video data in a multi-view video stream, comprises: receiving the multi-view video stream including a random access picture including a random access slice, the random access slice referencing only slice corresponding to a same time and a different view of the random access picture; obtaining a random access flag for inter-view prediction from the multi-view video stream, the random access flag indicating whether a picture is the random access picture; obtaining initialization information for the random access slice based on the random access flag, the initialization information representing information recognizing a predictive structure between a plurality of views, the initialization information including view number information and view identification information; obtaining type information indicating a coding type of the random access slice from the multi-view video stream; initializing at least one reference picture lists for the inter-view prediction using the view number information and the view identification information; determining whether the at least one reference picture lists for the inter-view prediction is modified using the type information; when the at least one reference picture lists for the inter-view prediction are determined to be modified, obtaining modification information for the initialized at least one reference picture lists from a multi-view video data stream, the modification information representing how to assign a reference index in the initialized at least one reference picture lists; modifying the initialized at least one reference picture lists for the inter-view prediction using the modification information; decoding a macroblock based on the modified at least one reference picture lists. The modifying the initialized at least one reference picture lists comprises: when the type information indicates that the random access slice is not I Slice, modifying first reference picture list included in the initialized at least one reference picture lists using the modification information, and when the type information indicates that the random access slice is B Slice, further modifying second reference picture list included in the initialized at least one reference picture lists using the modification information. |
