A diaphragm-type control valve having a valve body holding a diaphragm and a depression member is provided preferably for use in the separation of and fluid control between a fluid source and a pressurized gas volume. An inner surface of the valve body defines a chamber having an inlet and an outlet in communication with the chamber, and an elongated seat member. The depression member biases the diaphragm to a seated position within the valve. |

1. A method of pressurizing a chamber in a fluid control valve having a diaphragm member, the method comprising:
increasing an angle between a plane defined by a perimeter of an annular base portion and a radial projection extending inwardly from the annular base portion, the radial projection disposed within an internal chamber of the fluid control valve to abut an upper surface of the diaphragm member; seating the diaphragm member to form a gas chamber axially spaced from a liquid supply chamber; forming a gas seat between the gas and liquid chambers; decreasing the angle between the plane and the radial projection; and disengaging the diaphragm member from a surface of the chamber, the increasing of the angle being about a first pivot point and the decreasing of the angle being about a second pivot point that is different from the first pivot point. |
