The invention relates to solutions of polyimides in a solvent, characterised in that the solvent is a N-acylpyrrolidine of formula (I) wherein R1 represents an H-atom or a methyl group and R2 - R9 independently represent an H-atom or a methyl group or a solvent solution which comprises at least 10 wt. % of a N-xcylpyrrolidine of formula (I).
