The present invention will perform appropriate UL transmission in future wireless communication systems. A user terminal that has: a generation unit that generates a UL signal that is to be transmitted to a wireless base station; and a control unit that controls transmission of the generated UL signal. The control unit switches between OFDMA-based transmission and SC-FDMA-based transmission of the UL signal. The user terminal controls the OFDMA-based transmission and the SC-FDMA-based transmission autonomously or on the basis of information transmitted from the wireless base station.
