A phased-array antenna assembly (100, 100a-d) includes an antenna board stack (200), a radome (102) configured to cover the antenna board stack, and a casing (110) configured to support the antenna board stack. The antenna board stack includes a central core layer (214a), a bottom multilayer antenna unit (208) defining a bottom thickness (TB), and a top multilayer antenna unit (206) defining a top thickness (TT). The bottom antenna unit includes two spaced apart bottom metal layers (210a, 210b) each associated with a different distance (Di, D2) from the axis of symmetry (201). The top antenna unit includes two spaced apart top metal layers (210c, 210d) each associated with a corresponding one of the distances from the axis of symmetry associated with the bottom metal layers.
