The invention relates to a method for operating a brake system (3) of a motor vehicle (1) which has at least one hydraulically actuable wheel brake device (9), an electric machine (4) which can be operated as a generator and is/can be operatively connected to at least one wheel (6) of the motor vehicle (1), and a brake pedal (11) which can be displaced counter to a restoring force (FR) for specifying a setpoint braking torque, wherein depending on a brake pedal position (x) the wheel brake device (9) is actuated to generate a friction braking torque and/or the electric machine (4) is actuated to generate a recuperation braking torque, with the result that together they generate the setpoint braking torque. There is provision that the restoring force (FR) is varied as a function of the proportion of the setpoint braking torque formed by the friction braking torque. |
