An optical network system and a management method are provided. The system includes an Optical Line Terminal (OLT), a terminal and an Auto-Configuration Server (ACS). The ACS is configured to manage the OLT as well as the terminal connected under the OLT. The problems of existence of numerous network element layers and high management complexity of an optical network system are solved, the optical network management cost is reduced, and the operation convenience is improved. |
