摘要 A scanning beam display system 100 comprising: a continuous multi-layer display screen 115 having reference marks 540f disposed thereon; two light engine modules 140f, 140k, each emitting excitation light that is spatially controlled to be directed at respective areas 122f, 122k of the display screen; two corresponding servo systems which use at least one reference mark to determine the placement on the screen of excitation light emitted by respective light engine modules; and a control unit that uses tables of alignment data to determine the correspondence between the placement of the excitation light in the first and second areas, and controls respective first and second light engine modules to convey appropriate sub-images of an image. In alternative embodiments: servo beam feedback light may determine alignments errors of each light engine module and each excitation beam may be adjusted accordingly; or in response to detection of the alignment of each light engine module via the servo feedback, a portion of a display area may be simultaneously excited by its corresponding light engine module and an adjacent light engine module. In embodiments, each light engine module overscans servo and excitation beams onto adjacent display areas to create a seamless display effect.
