PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas generator that can stably control an autoignition operation even in the case where the operation is induced or the other cases and that has more excellent safety.SOLUTION: A gas generator 1A includes a housing, a gas generating agent 61, a filter 70 and an igniter 40. The housing includes: a top plate part 21; a bottom plate part 11; peripheral wall parts 12, 22 having a gas jetting port 23; and a fixation part 25 fixed to an external component. The igniter 40 is attached to the bottom plate part 11. The gas jetting port 23 is installed on the peripheral wall part 22 located on the top plate part 21 side of the position where the fixation part 25 is installed. A lower side shell 10A constituting the bottom plate part 11 of the housing comprises a press molded product molded by pressing a rolled metallic plate-shaped member, and includes a fragile part 11a having relatively thin thickness. The fragile part 11a is formed by installing a spot-shaped hole part 16 in the lower side shell 10A. |
