PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system setting information update device which can perform only proper update processing on system setting information and surely inhibit unauthorized alteration to the system setting information.SOLUTION: A system setting information update device comprises: storage means which stores system setting information of a host computer that executes a plurality of programs; notification means which generates an authentication key and notifies a predetermined program of the authentication key among the plurality of programs; and update means which acquires an update request for the system setting information that includes an update key from any of the plurality of programs, updates the system setting information on the basis of the update request when the acquired update key matches the authentication key, and refuses the update request when the acquired update key does not match the authentication key. |
