A method of enabling a device to show sunrise and sunset times comprises causing the device, such as a smart watch, mobile phone or tablet, to obtain a sunrise time and sunset time for a current location, obtained by a GPS satellite receiver or by cellular network trilateration or triangulation. The sunset and sunrise times for the location are retrieved from a look up table. The device obtains a plurality of calendar events from a calendar application; displays a time axis 210 on a screen, and displays, relative to the time axis, a plurality of symbols 240, 250, 260 corresponding to the calendar events, and displays an indication of sunrise 232, and an indication of sunset 234. The position of the sun 236 may be shown on an arc 230 which transects the timeline. The user may scroll along the time line using a swipe or by using a rotatable hardware element. The device may also be configured to display a symbol on the time axis corresponding to the departure time, to enable a user to arrive at a predetermined location before sunset or adverse weather conditions. |
