A synchronous motor control device equipped with a voltage detector, a current detector, an inverter main circuit, and an inverter control unit 6, wherein the inverter control unit 6 is equipped with: a phase current reproduction unit 9 for modifying a direct current so as to reproduce a phase current flowing through a permanent magnet synchronous motor; a current coordinate conversion unit 10 for converting the reproduced phase current into a current of a control coordinate axis in a rotation coordinate system; a current control unit 13 for calculating a voltage command value for the permanent magnet synchronous motor in a manner such that the current of the control coordinate axis equals a specific value; and a limiter 14 for limiting the value of the voltage command value.
