[Class 99 (i)] In a pipe joint of the kind in which a coupling nut b compresses the flared end of a pipe on to a coned nipple i, the nipple has a shoulder k with a sharp edge, the width of the space between the contact surfaces e, f is less than the thickness of the pipe, and the shoulder l of the nut is rounded. The shoulder m engages the pipe when the nut is fully tightened. The space between the surfaces, e, f, widens towards the end of the pipe. |
