A sheet 1 is provided with a one-dimensional or two-dimensional code 2 printed on the surface thereof. A sheet processing device is provided with a camera 4 for imaging the code on a sheet, which is conveyed by a conveying unit, and a control unit 5 for controlling the operation of a movement mechanism. The control unit is provided with: an acquisition unit 50 for acquiring image data of the code imaged by the camera; a read-in unit 51 for reading in information of the code from the image data; a position measurement unit 53 for measuring the position of the code from the image data; a retrieval unit 52 for retrieving a plurality of items of position information pertaining to a processing mechanism for prescribed position information that corresponds to the information of the code read in by the read-in unit; a calculation unit 54 for calculating the degree of displacement between the position of the code as measured by the position measurement unit and a code reference position; a determination unit 55 for correcting the prescribed position information pertaining to the processing mechanism as retrieved by the retrieval unit by the amount of displacement calculated by the calculation unit, and determining a desired position of the processing mechanism; and a desired position output unit 56 for outputting the desired position of the processing mechanism as determined by the determination unit.
