PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared ray interruption touch panel device that prevents erroneous detection caused by reflection of an infrared ray incident at a low incident angle to a translucent plate by the translucent plate.SOLUTION: A touch panel device comprises: a display screen 101 for displaying an image; a column of light-emitting elements 911 for scanning infrared light along the display screen 101; a column of light receiving elements corresponding to the column of light-emitting elements 911; and a strip-shaped translucent plate 81 covering the column of light-emitting elements 911 or the column of light receiving elements. The touch panel device detects the position of a light-blocking object on the display screen 101. The entire width of the translucent plate 81 is narrowed by providing a translucent part 812 within a range in which the translucent plate 81 is matched with the position of a light-emitting part 913 of the light-emitting element 911 in a width direction to thereby minimize the range of the translucent part 812. |
