The device (1) has a holding unit (3) movable in a lifting direction (9) relative to a frame (2). The frame is mounted on two support bearings (5, 6) whose support directions extend perpendicular to a transport direction (10) and at a specified angle to each other. The support bearings have certain distance to each other in the lifting direction and perpendicular to the transport direction and the lifting direction. The support bearings include sliding elements or rollers (32, 38), which are shifted or rolled off in the transport direction.
