Disclosed is a method of designing an ultra-high voltage current transformer (CT) coil having a self-calibration function. The method comprises: step 1: winding and forming a secondary winding (3) on an iron core (4) of a current transformer, wherein the secondary winding (3) comprises a first winding (N2) and a second winding (N3) having the same ampere turns; step 2: when the current transformer is to undergo error calibration, using the first winding (N2) as a new primary winding and the second winding (N3) as the secondary winding to form a self-calibration module, or using the second winding (N3) as the new primary winding and the first winding (N2) as the secondary winding to form the self-calibration module.
