[Class 44.] A clip particularly for supporting hose o light garments con sists of two jaws 10 11 pivoted together at 24 and operated by a toggle linkage. The toggle consists of two links 12, 13 pivoted together at 28 and to the jaws 10 and 11 at 21 and 29 respectively, the link 12 having detachably secured to it an operating cover plate 14. The plate 14 may be secured to the link 12 by friction or by a wire loop 52 the lower ends of which engage with holes in the plate and the link. The inner faces of the jaws may be coated with smooth or corrugated vulcanized rubber, or teeth 62 may be provided on the lower end of the jaw 11 to co-operate with a slot 60 in the jaw 10. The clip may be suspended by the loop 52 or by inserting the back jaw 10 in a pocket C and stitching. A protecting band of tape may be arranged at the back of the jaw 10. |
