The present invention enables provision of different information and services depending on the location of a terminal without using the fixed media access control (MAC) address of the terminal in consideration of user privacy. In the present invention, there is a server for providing a service which acquires location information of a terminal according to which of a plurality of distributed detection devices receives a wireless signal from the terminal. In response to a request from the terminal, the server assigns the terminal with terminal identification information matching the format of information included as a standard in the wireless signal. The terminal transmits the wireless signal with the assigned terminal identification information included therein. The terminal identification information has a MAC address format or a service set identifier (SSID) format, which is one information component of a management frame in the wireless LAN standards. |
