[Class 81 (ii)] A massage belt, fitted with two or more groups of massage elements, wholly carries a motor which imparts to these elements to and fro rubbing movements by means of a crank or similarly acting device. In Fig. 1, a belt f provided with massage elements h carries an electric motor a fitted with a switch or speed governor c. The driving crank d is attached to a middle piece e also having massage projections h. A buckle g enables the length of the belt to be adjusted. In Fig. 2, one end of the belt is attached to the motor casing, and the other end to the crank. A spring i acts in opposition to the pressure of the body on the belt. The belt may be subdivided in a longitudinal direction into two or more rings, one of which is connected to the crank, and the other(s) to the motor casing. The electric motor may be replaced by a water turbine.</p> |
